.best.

Man finds it hard to get what he wants, because he does not want the best; God finds it hard to give, because He would give the best, and man will not take it.

.waiting.

...waiting...

Humans don't like to wait. A baby is appalled at the concept of waiting to eat, and we don't seem to get any better as we grow older. To wait on the Lord is a concept often mentioned in Scripture, and in my opinion, it's the only way to live vibrantly. But how do we practically wait on Him?

Whatever waiting on the Lord looks like, it most certainly is NOT passive. I've been thinking about this concept for a while and will write more later, but I heard this song yesterday and found it thought provoking. I'm usually not a fan of songs like this, but the lyrics resonated with me. I hope you enjoy it.

While I'm Waiting by John Waller

I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience

While I’m waiting
I will serve You
While I’m waiting
I will worship
While I’m waiting
I will not faint
I’ll be running the race
Even while I wait

I’m waiting
I’m waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I’m waiting on You, Lord
Though it’s not easy, no
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait

And I will move ahead, bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience

I will serve You while I’m waiting
I will worship while I’m waiting on You, Lord

.peace.

In a world of chaos and confusion, how do we find peace? The Prince of Peace came and said He left us His peace, but how do we practically enjoy it?

The answer is found in Isaiah 26:3:
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
Not only is He the most wonderful person to ever think about, but when we do think about Him, He gives us peace that passes all understanding! What an incredible Lord!
